How do we bring people to the rim country? How do we share with you the rich heritage of the old families, and the cutting edge concepts of our newcomers? We want to walk you through the mogollons moist green canyons, and speak to you about taking care of Gods wild land. You might not know about the concerts in the park or the tiny bed and breakfast just around the bend. Perhaps you haven't heard about the many hotels that welcome hunters, fishermen, rock hounds, and hikers. The rim country has quite an active night life if you know where to look. Do you know we have Arizona's oldest school house right here in one of our little hamlets?
We have mountain streams that glisten in the afternoon sun and babble in the darkness of night, huge cliffs that change colors when the suns first morning rays strike there eastern face. Camp next to an open meadow and awake to the crunch, crunch, crunch, of elk chewing their morning feast. Walk along canyon trails and unwind among the wild ferns covering the forest floor. Have you ever set quiet and still in the woods and watched a blue jay wrestle with a squirrel for his stash of nuts and seeds? We have cool winter days when gigantic snowflakes fall softly from the heavens then vanish into sodden pine needles.
Here at Trekking the Rim, we seek to encourage you and your family to take self guided expeditions under the Mogollon rim. We emphasize safety, responsibility and family adventure in the rim country. The members of our staff hunt, fish, hike, camp, bike, study rim history, and ride quads, so we understand our forest.
